Are you on vacation? I hope so. Are you working? Well, you should be.
In the normal world, if you approached a small group of disparate people and asked them where they were from and what they did for a living, you would probably be met with extreme disdain. Don’t do this.
But in the vacation world, it’s kind of expected. Strangers pounding down rums on the boat after the snorkeling trip love to talk about where they are from. Everyone is in a great mood. It’s kind of surprising the amount of information people reveal about themselves in these situations.
Now don’t kill this buzz with a sales pitch. That’s not the point. The goal here is to make yourself 100% approachable. “You’re that nice realtor from Atlanta”. That’s it!
This week’s blog is a short one, as you might have guessed I am on vacation. Tomorrow I will spend the day sailing Chesapeake Bay with 7 other people I have never met. It’s a four-hour sail. I really don’t know what to expect, but by the end of the trip, all my fellow sailors will know I am a realtor from Atlanta, and that I love living there. You just never know who may lean in and ask a question.
I am not saying this strategy is a proven winner. I honestly don’t know. But it doesn’t hurt. And it’s free. So why not? And besides, I really do love living in Atlanta!
